Use Your Extended Health Benefits at Impulse Health — We Bill Directly
Most patients only pay a small portion — or nothing
What direct billing means
Direct billing means our clinic submits your eligible claim to your insurance provider at the time of your visit. Instead of paying the full fee upfront and submitting your own paperwork later, you may only need to pay the remaining balance not covered by your plan.
For many patients, this makes starting care much simpler. It reduces delays, cuts down on paperwork, and helps you use your extended health benefits more easily.
Which insurance plans can be billed directly
Impulse Health & Wellness processes eligible claims through the Telus Health eClaims portal. The page currently identifies providers such as Manulife, Canada Life, Great-West Life, and Pacific Blue Cross as examples of plans the clinic can submit through this system, while also noting that some insurers may require patients to pay first and submit receipts afterward.
If you are not sure whether your plan qualifies for direct billing, call the clinic before your visit. Our team can help you confirm whether your insurer can be billed directly and what information you need to bring.
What if my insurance provider is not eligible for direct billing
If your insurer is not one the clinic can bill directly, you can still use your benefits in many cases. You would simply pay for your visit at the appointment, and the clinic can provide a detailed receipt for you to submit to your provider for reimbursement.
This is common with some plans, and for many patients it is still a straightforward process.
What services may be covered under extended health benefits
Coverage depends on your individual plan, but many BC extended health plans commonly include services such as:
Some plans may also offer coverage for items such as custom orthotics, although direct billing is not always available for those services or products.

ICBC & WorkSafeBC (WCB) Claims Accepted
If your injury is related to a motor vehicle accident or a workplace incident, your care may be covered through ICBC or WorkSafeBC (WCB).
At Impulse Health & Wellness, we accept ICBC claims and WorkSafeBC claims for eligible patients. In many cases, approved treatments can be billed directly, reducing out-of-pocket costs.
Not sure if your injury qualifies or what is covered? Our team can help guide you through the process and explain your options before your first visit.

How to use your benefits at Impulse Health
Using your benefits is usually simple.
First, book your appointment online or by phone.
Next, bring your benefits card or your policy details, including your provider name, policy number, and group number. If you are covered under a spouse or parent’s plan, bring that information as well. We will have you fill out insurance direct billing authorization forms. To process any remaining balance after your claim is submitted, we keep a credit card securely on file for your account.
After your visit, the clinic submits the eligible claim through Telus Health when direct billing is available. If your plan covers the full amount, there may be no balance owing. If it covers part of the visit, you pay only the remaining portion.
You will also receive a receipt showing what was billed and what was paid.
Not Sure What Your Plan Covers?

Does BC MSP cover chiropractic
BC MSP does not provide standard chiropractic coverage for most residents. MSP supplementary benefits apply only to eligible beneficiaries with supplementary benefits status, and the province states that chiropractic services are covered at $23 per visit, with a combined maximum of 10 visits per calendar year across eligible supplementary therapies.
For most patients, chiropractic and massage visits are accessed through extended health benefits, not regular MSP coverage. If you are unsure whether you qualify for MSP supplementary benefits, it is best to confirm directly before your appointment.
Why patients in Surrey choose direct billing
Patients often want care to be convenient and predictable. Direct billing helps reduce friction at the front desk, shortens the reimbursement process, and makes it easier to use benefits you already have through work or a private plan.
At Impulse Health & Wellness, we help patients from Surrey, Guildford, Fleetwood, Fraser Heights, Newton, Cloverdale, Whalley, and surrounding Lower Mainland communities understand their options before treatment begins. The clinic page also highlights convenient access, weekday and Saturday availability, and free on-site parking.
Questions about your benefits
If you are unsure whether your plan covers chiropractic, massage therapy, or spinal decompression therapy , contact the clinic before your visit. Our team can help you understand whether direct billing may be available, what information to bring, and whether you should expect any out-of-pocket amount.
